Modern Boho Nursery Mood Board

Thursday, March 10, 2016

I've been pinning things left and right for the twins' nursery and now that we know the gender I'm in deep. I've actually been having a hard time nailing down a theme but I think I have settled on modern boho. For those of you giving the screen a blank stare check out my mood board below. ;)

Guys, these mood boards don't just happen in an hour. They take FOR EV ER. I will come back to this post next week when I'm home (btw I'm in Texas with my Mom visiting the Magnolia Farm store!) and link to all the items shown.

M and I are still arguing discussing nursery options (he loves industrial) but this is my version of the twins' dream nursery. I'm smitten over it! And it just gets me even more excited to have BOYS! Also, I stopped by Old Navy this week and O.M.G. do they have cute boy clothes?! Whoever said girls were the expensive ones? I say it's pretty even...

Disney Princess Party

Thursday, January 7, 2016

The time has come. I knew I wouldn't be able to escape it. I couldn't deny her of it anymore.

Blair wants a princess party.

How how how do you make a Disney princess party chic and classy?! I have scoured Pinterest high and low. No luck. This is uncharted territory folks. True, I could do a generic princess party but it's just not the same. I've decided to compromise and go with a soft color palette but still add Disney princesses to it. I'm thinking about cutting out their silhouettes on rose gold paper with my Cricut since I have Disney princess cartridges. There will be plenty of crowns and wands for all. Shoot, maybe even a jewelry station? Here's my very raw idea board...

I like the idea of tulle pom pom for decor. So girly and cute! I may have to throw some Disney princess balloons by the front door, some cheesy goody bags, and maybe even paper ware (ugh) but mark my words all that "cute" stuff will be far far away from my the dessert table. :)

With El Nino hitting us this year I'm planning on having the party indoors. Major bummer. Hopefully the weather is good enough that day to set up a bounce house in the back yard and get the knights and princesses outside.

If you see anything that fits my above mood board send it my way please! Have an enchanted day. ;)

Boho Girls Nursery Mood Board

Tuesday, September 22, 2015

Although we're not in the market for a nursery any time soon (hello, we need a baby first) I still like to dream them up in my head. The inspiration behind this nursery mood board was this pillow. I just love its boho vibe and I think it would be so adorable in a little girls room.

 I love flokati rugs in nursery's. They are just so soft and cozy and work for a boy or a girl. Hint hint they are in Costco right now for the fall/winter season and are much cheaper than the Land of Nod ones! I'm so tempted to buy one but I also hate to put the cart before the horse. I've also been eyeing that pink woven toy box for quite some time now so I knew I wanted to add it to this mood board. Likewise, woven wall tapestries are SO in right now. M realllllly hates them but I think a small one would be cute in a nursery. And even though I pulled the curtains from Serena and Lily I know for a fact that they are easy to DIY since that's what I did for Blair's room. I hope you enjoyed my mood board for a little girl...stay tuned for a baby boy mood board!

{The Great Outdoors} Nursery mood board

Thursday, May 22, 2014

I gotta be honest. If I could chose the sex of our next baby I would chose a girl. I'm a girly girl and having Blair has been SO much fun! However, after designing this "great outdoors" nursery for a boy this week I'm excited at the chance of having a boy (see my "girl" nursery here). I know M would like a little dude to take hiking, backpacking, fishing etc. It would be one of his greatest joys to show him God's great creation which is why I would choose a "great outdoors" themed nursery. I do not have the wall space to incorporate all the items below but they are there to give you options. So many cute things I just couldn't decide!

crib     fitted sheet     glider     log pillow     bear pillow     stool/nightstand     lantern     animals print

camping print     USA print     arrow     moose head     faux wood letter     mirror  pendant  real wood letters

campfire     USA shelf     wood shelves     rug      greatest adventure print     mocs     night light     lamp

If you were planning a nursery for a little man what "theme" would you go with? There are so many fun options out there...now all I need is a baby. ;)

Diamond Shape Style Challenge {cushion cut}

Wednesday, April 16, 2014

My friends over at Brilliant Earth have given me the opportunity to share my favorite engagement ring style from a fashion perspective. I love what their company stands for: conflict free diamonds from Canada made with recycled gold. Good for your conscious...and the environment! After browsing all of their options I choose them gem below...

rose gold felicity diamond {cushion cut}
Are you as in love with rose gold as I am lately? I have several rose gold pieces in my jewelry box. I love the cushion style cut because I think it creates the most sparkle...and who doesn't love that?! If it were my ten year anniversary I'd be dragging my hubby down to their store to put this bad boy on my finger! But alas...we're only at 7 years. Three more years to save up honey! ;)

I thought it would be fun to create a style board featuring this ring below. If I could was forced to get married again here is the theme I would go with:

I love the softness of peach and the timeless neutrality of gray. Throw in a little blush and you've got yourself one stunning look! If they made rose gold shoes and silverware I'd be all over it but not everyone has caught onto the trend yet. It's ok, I forgive you. ;) I'm obsessed with lace, open back dresses that have a vintage feel. They are so feminine and graceful. Naked cakes are in right now and I like how "homemade" they feel versus "overdone."

Nursery Mood Board {lilac, blush, aqua}

Wednesday, April 9, 2014

Thank you for all the sweet comments yesterday about our photo shoot! You are all too kind!

It's no secret that I have baby on the brain...bad. To kill time between pregnancy tests I thought it would be fun to come up with some "mood boards" for a future nursery. I know I'm WAY ahead of the game but I enjoy it and hope to inspire some of you with my ideas. While these boards are time consuming to create, I absolutely LOVE doing it! I think my next calling is a "professional nursery designer." Ha. Just kidding but a girl can dream!

My whole inspiration behind this look was the confetti-like crib sheet. I went with a neutral gray for the wall color so the room's look can be changed easily without having to repaint. I love the girliness of the lilac, blush, and aqua pops of color. Sign me up for a baby girl STAT! ;)

     I like pulling in some elements of nature such as the agate dresser knobs, the woven grass storage basket, the stick in the mobile, and the tree stump accent table. Since we already have a white glider in Blair's room I would just switch it over to the new nursery regardless of the sex. Maybe we should have like 20 kids so I can just design lots of nurseries...what do you think M? No? Good. Me either. I'll stick to just having fun and creating mood boards for the time being. :)
