Family Bike Rides with iBert

Wednesday, May 9, 2018

Spring (or is it summer?!) has sprung here in Southern California and we definitely took advantage of it last weekend by taking the kids on a bike ride. We used our iBert bike seats and the twins loved it! Blair graciously allowed Everly to use her old seat ;) and iBert sent Cal a snazzy new red one!

I love that the twins are on the front of our bikes so they have a great view; instead of looking at our backs the whole time. They loved the pretend steering wheel too!

If you are looking for a great bike seat be sure to check out iBert!

J.Adams Giveaway

Wednesday, April 11, 2018

Spring is here and my sandals from last year are looking a tad sad. I teamed up with J.Adams and found some really cute (and super affordable!) shoes that take my outfit to the next level without being uncomfortable.

I love that they have a velcro strap so I can get them on quickly and easily. The peep toe is flirty and fun and the chunky heal gives me a little bit of (much needed) height.

You can enter here for a pair of your own by checking out J.Adams HERE and letting me know below in the comments which is your favorite style. Entrants MUST leave their email address with their comment. Winner will be notified in two days. Good luck!

Beddy's: Zippable bedding!

Sunday, February 11, 2018

Blair is a crafty one let me tell you. One of her chores is to make her bed in the morning. She's decided this is too much work so instead of sleeping in her bed she sleeps on her bed with a throw blanket over herself. This makes "making her bed" pretty painless but her nights can be a little chilly.

I recently discovered Beddy's on Instagram and *poof* problem solved! Beddy's is seriously one of the most genius inventions in bedding out there. The sides of the comforter zip up! There are no sheets to pull up either because a fitted sheet is sewn inside along with a super soft minky material. When I showed it to Blair she was literally squeeling with delight haha. Blair's Beddy's is pink but they come in an array of colors for girls and boys. I was excited that her set not only came with the zipping comforter but two pillow cases and matching shams...score! No more having to buy sheets!

I definitely recommend Beddy's... cute and functional combine to make a mom (and kid) win! This post is sponsored by Beddy's but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I let Blair choose from a wide variety of mermaids, unicorns, and sweet treats. She's really into unicorns lately so she ended up picking that one. ErgoPouch Sleep Sack Review

Monday, January 15, 2018

I've been a fan of sleep sacks since Blair was a baby. Her blankie, that she still loves, is actually her old sleep sack from when she was a baby. We use sleep sacks for the twins every night as well because I like knowing they can't kick it off and then end up cold...especially in these winter months!

ErgoPouch sent us some sleep sacks and I love them! They are super thick, like a down blanket, which is great because then I don't need to run the heat at night. The ErgoPouch is made of natural materials including organic cotton, bamboo, and merino. They even have footed sleep sacks so baby can be bundled up in the stroller...a great idea for our Disneyland trips!

Every night before bed we zip the kiddos up in their sleep sacks and read them their bed time story. I love cuddling them while they are so mellow. It's such a special time that I'll treasure forever!

Gettin' Clean for the New Year with Babo Botanicals

Wednesday, January 3, 2018

Ever since I battled unexplained secondary infertility I've been much more cautious about the products I use on the kids. I do try to be aware of what I use on my own body but I'm especially careful about what I put on the kids because I want to preserve their fertility and of course a healthy, less toxic lifestyle in general.

I use an app called "think dirty" that rates the toxicity of household products on a scale of 1 to 10. Products that score a 3 or less are "safe" and are products I buy for our home. Babo Botanical is a company that uses natural, clean ingredients and work like a charm! I love how conscious they are about using safe ingredients, especially on pregnant women and babies.

Blair's skin has been crazy dry this winter so every night before bed she lotions up her body. Her hands seem to suffer the most from dryness (probably from me making her wash them all the time to avoid germs) so we take extra care to lotion them throughout the day.

I've tried a lot of Babo Botanicals products and so far have loved them all. I use the swim and sport shampoo for Blair since she's in the pool a lot and I use the calming baby lotion for both her and the twins after their bath. The diaper cream is thick and works wonders for the twins and occasionally I even use it for Blair when she gets a rash. I also use the rose conditioner for Blair's curly hair and it does a great job keeping her hair shiny and detangled.

Men's Gift Guide

Monday, December 11, 2017

Today I'm here to help you with gift ideas for all the MEN in your life! I'm not going to lie..this one really stumps me. Usually I know what my husband wants but throw in uncles, brothers, and DADS and I'm often stumped! Dads are typically old enough to buy what they want, when they want which makes gift giving impossible!

So here we go! I asked some pretty awesome men (and women!) what they get the dudes in their life and this is what they said...

I hope that was maybe a tad bit helpful! If you have any great gift ideas let me know below! Happy Shopping. :)

Christmas Ideas: 5 Year Old Girls

Sunday, December 3, 2017

I'm a little late to the toy game but I thought I would give you a little peek to as what Blair is asking for for Christmas! Let's hope she doesn't have a repeat of last year's behavior (insert eye roll). As long as she stays on the nice list these are some of the things she's been talking about...

1. jewelry kit
2. princess activity kit
3. glitter glue
4. princess necklace kit
5.glitter paint
6. girly crayons
7. canvas painting set
8. ceramic painting set
9. my little pony set
10. plush unicorn set
11. operation game
12. crystal growing kit
13. Moana lego kit

Clearly Blair has a love of all things crafty. Those are the toys that entertain her the longest (aside from her ipad of course). Hope you got some good ideas here! Next up will be gifts for one year olds... obviously!

Festive Bed Sheets by Linens and Hutch

Tuesday, November 21, 2017

I've been decorating Blair's room for Christmas for years. This year I decided that I wanted in on the fun and added some festive decor to MY bedroom! Why should kids have all the fun?! ;)

I recently picked out some darling sheets at Linens and Hutch to add some magic to my bedroom. We've been sleeping like babies in our cozy new sheets and my hubby even said, "Are these new sheets? They're so soft!" And that's saying a lot from a guy who doesn't usually notice when I change things around in our house. ;)

I love that when you walk into our room everything looks clean and white but when you get up close you can see the small swiss dots on our sheets. I like that they add a little playfulness to our space. These durable sheets resist static, stains, are fade resistant and are wrinkle-free! Bonus points that they are also hypoallergenic, antimicrobial, and antibacterial (perfect for people with allergies).

If you want to add a little Christmas spirit to your bedroom (or your kiddos!) make sure you check them out! Their prices are super reasonable for such a high quality sheet.

Use code "natyouraveragegirl" to get 30% off your order from Linens and Hutch! With Christmas right around the corner this would be a great way to save on a thoughtful gift.

The Best Time to be a Kid: Gymboree Gift Card

Wednesday, November 8, 2017

It seems like every year I get the itch earlier and earlier to bust out my Christmas decorations. I used to have a strict "no decorating till after Thanksgiving" policy but with three kids now I just want the season to last a little longer. I may have gotten a few things out already!

We have so many sweet traditions at our house around Christmas time and Blair just goes NUTS over all of it. Christmas really is the best time to be a kid! One of her favorite things is our advent calendar. Each day we read a part of the Christmas story and then follow it up with an activity (like decorating our tree in festive jammies) or an act of kindness (like buying a gift for a child in need). This keeps Christmas both fun and meaningful in our house.

Gymboree's holiday looks are the perfect fit for our holiday traditions. Putting on coordinating, festive jammies while decorating the tree gets everyone excited (and comfortable!). We love Gymboree's quality clothing especially since everything Blair wears will soon become Everly's! And you know it makes my heart go pitter-patter when I see all three of my kiddos in matching jammies. :)

I'm always on the prowl for cute festive jammies and accessories and Gymboree had me covered this year! They had everything I needed to keep my kiddos warm. Hats, scarves, slippers... you name it! Make sure you check out their holiday line and head over to my instagram (@natyouraveragegirl) for your chance to win a $50 gift card!

What are your holiday traditions? Do you get festive jammies every year? Tell me why you think the holidays are the best time to be a kid!
