I'm LOVING the phrase "Treat yo' self" for Halloween. Mildly appropriate, right? I for sure want to make a banner for a treat table with that saying. :) Framing one of the chalkboard prints below would also be an easy way to add some festive spirit to your entry way or dessert table.

Today is the big day! Blair is officially a pre-schooler. And while I'm not crying while writing this post I am sure the tears will come when I drop her off. I plan on using my free time today to go to the gym and return a couple things at Michaels. I'm going to miss my kisses after each sit up though. And all of the "she's darling" comments from strangers while at Michaels. *sniff sniff

With that being said I had to document her first day. Since I know how much Blair loves taking pictures (insert sarcasm here) I decided to take her "first day of school" pictures one day early. ;) I dressed her in the outfit and shoes I had all picked out for today. No need in making our morning any more stressful on her big day.

So the above photo certainly needs some explaining. I've been asking Blair for a while now what she wants to be when she grows up. She wasn't understanding that so I asked her what she wanted to do for work so she could have money. She quickly responded, "Girls don't work, Mommy!" Um, what? Apparently Blair thinks girls don't work because I stay at home with her. I tried explaining to her that I used to be a teacher before she was born but she wasn't buying it. She now tells me that girls still don't work and that she is going to live with me forever and we are going to get married. She has quite a bit to learn... and I'm sure the feminists are real proud right now. So, finally after my suggestions of being a ballerina, teacher, artist, doctor etc. she said, "Mom I don't want to be anything. I just want to be Blair." Blair it is.

We met her teachers on Monday and they kindly said that Blankie and Baby need to stay at home. Hold up. What? You can imagine the pit in my stomach when she said that but I had a feeling it was coming. We have been practicing leaving Blankie in my purse or in the car so that helps. I'm hoping she will be so busy that it won't be a problem. Plus Baby seems to be spending more and more time at her friend's house, or on vacation, or at Disneyland (according to Blair) when we are out and about so maybe she already has plans today? Blair has been telling me, "Mom when I am at school you will not miss me because you will be taking care of Baby! You can sit with her on the couch and watch a movie." Ha ha ha. Yes, Blair, I will surely be spending my time away from you watching movies on the couch... ;)

I know I've said this before but I seriously can't believe Blair is going to start preschool in two weeks! I'm sure I will shed a tear (or two) but I keep telling myself it's only MWF for 3 hours. We will still have plenty of time to hit up Disneyland afterwards. :)

With that said I am sure many of you mamas are sending your littles off to preschool soon too (if you haven't already!). I'm all about remembering important events over here so I'll be sure to document this. I know I post a lot of pictures from ballet class but the girls are so darn cute I can't help it! I definitely think we will sign up to do ballet again next month. Blair absolutely adores it even if she's not the most skilled dancer in class. ;)

Swoon! Is there anything more precious? I'm thinking about making a little scrapbook with all of Blair's pictures with her friends from birth to now. I think she will love it especially since she doesn't have a sibling yet...she really cherishes her friends!

Oh, and side note I FINALLY found something that cleans "dirty baby" thanks to my cousin's advice...bar keepers friend! Check out before and after...

Pretty good right?! Now if I could just clean the actual fabric part. :/ I tried to convince Blair to change baby's jammies and she freaked out. Baby steps I guess. See what I did there? ;)

I have some really exciting news to announce today! No, I'm not pregnant (lame) but I am thrilled to tell you that I'm teaming up with one of my good friends in opening an Etsy shop! Autumn Designs and Co. is the name of our shop (her middle name is Autumn) and we will be featuring hand lettered chalkboard art. My friend is crazy talented and creates all the prints and then I edit them up a bit and run the shop. Right now all the files are digital which makes them inexpensive and easy to print at home or through photo printing companies. We're starting with Holiday prints but are planning to release others time accordingly.

 These prints are great for home decor and would be a very easy and inexpensive gift idea. I'm thinking about printing some out and putting them in cute frames as gifts like below...

 I've been busy collecting items to create a gallery wall in my entry way and I think it turned out pretty well. My favorite is the "hello" sign. All items are from Hobby Lobby!
