Home Tour

I've been putting off giving you a full tour of my home because we're not "finished" yet. But I realized that we will never really be finished since there is always something more you can do to better your home...
So yesterday I took some photos of our house but got pooped out after doing the downstairs. Upstairs will have to come next week. And I have to tell you that part of the reason why I was so tired was because I had to strategically move all the baby gear so it wasn't in each shot... One day my house will be baby gear free but for now I will embrace it (just not on my home tour post).

front door
entry way
living room to the right when you walk in. i'm looking for a couch, two unmatching chairs, a coffee table, and possibly two ottomans for seating
nice empty room that I'm working on shopping for
office. definitely needs a rug don't you think? and maybe a chair under our two diplomas on the wall?
dining room to the left when you walk in. desperately want a new table. and those curtains need to be hemmed.
pretty sweet mirror that my aunt found for me
looking back to the door
hall from dining room to kitchen
the only time you won't see a diaper bag, a car seat, and grocery bags on this buffet...
laundry room to garage
laundry (and B's cloth diaper bag)
laundry looking back to buffet
pantry on left, kitchen straight ahead
i reallllly wanna paint this island black
oak, oak, and more oak... :(
also dying to paint the cupboards a creamy white
waiting to paint the media center and mantel creamy white
not in love with the rocking chair but B likes it so it stays for now
toy stash :)
also want to update the kitchen lights
downstairs bathroom
the only truly finished room (except for the empty space in the basket on the right)
So, there you have our current downstairs. No where near to being done but it's fun to have a "project."

Here are some of the things I'm thinking about getting for the living room...

Love this couch...minus the kid

Coffee table with storage

Such a handsome chair. Maybe a different color.

Ottoman seating
Aren't these cute? Target!
Shoe challenge: leopard flats. With an unmade bed. Classy.
Well today is the big day. I leave at two pm today and head up to San Jose to visit my best friends. Wish us luck and keep B in your prayers. She has never been away from her mama and is not stellar at taking a bottle (meaning she doesn't). But I keep reminding myself that God is bigger than this and he will take care of B and Matt!

  1. Oh yayy! So happy to get a tour! You have sooooo much space...so awesome! Once B starts moving it will be nice to have the open space! We literally have none and the baby toys have definitely taken over! Yikes!
Have fun in SJ this weekend and try not to worry (easier said than done I know!). Can't wait to hear all about the trip! XO

  2. What a beautiful home, and how nice to never be fully 'finished' - it's what keeps life exciting! I'm in that same boat. Love your ideas and can't wait to see it all come together. Best of luck on your girlfriends' trip. How excited you'll be to come home to your family!
