Calvin and Everly: Newborn Session

Tuesday, October 4, 2016

Not everyone has a best friend who does their hair and takes their family photos...but I do! Within the first week of the twins being born we headed over to her studio to make memories. :) At first I told her that I wasn't going to be in any of the photos because it was too much work to get ready. She kindly told me that I would regret it (that's what besties are for!) and I sacked up and got ready.

When we showed up M was like, "Do I have enough time to run and get coffee? This only takes about 30 minutes, right?" Carrie and I about died...ummm you have plenty of time to get coffee. P.S., M, newborn shoots with twins take a few hours.

Since the twins were born in summer (every month is summer in Riverside) I wanted to forgo the typical floral wreath (which I love) and trade it for something different. I decided to add sliced up fruit among the flowers. My other bestie picked out all the fresh flowers and we arranged them together. I was thrilled with the result and can't even wait to frame them.

This little lady is quite dramatic but has been giving us allll the smiles lately!

This picture defines him...he's always observing calmly (unless I'm trying to put him down for a nap lol). He has major FOMO and loves to be held and snuggled.

Big sister helping with the fruit! Shorts by Hello Ellie Shop

Everly's hair bow by Cammi and Co.

These are a few of my favorites...the rest will be published once their announcements are sent out.

Overall the shoot went well and I think only 3 of the 4 adults got poop on them. Ha ha I was the only one who avoided it somehow!

SwaddleDesigns zzZipMe Sack Giveaway

Monday, October 3, 2016

* This giveaway is closed. The winner is DIANNE! Please email me to claim your sleep sack. (natalieb1219@gmail.com).

Go see if you were the lucky winner for the $50 stroller gift card HERE!

We've been working like mad over here to get the twins sleeping well. Naps in their own bed and own room are a work in progress but nights have been pretty good! They typically wake to nurse 1-2 times and we are very diligent about keeping their routine the same. SwaddleDesigns Cotton Knit zzZipMe Sacks have been great for keeping our twins warm.

Our babes prefer not to be swaddled so the zzZipMe Sacks are exactly what we need. Typically most babies transition from being swaddled around 3 months. It gives me peace of mind knowing they are warm but don't have the threat of a loose blanket in their crib.
Bunnies for her.

Puppies for him.

SwaddleDesigns products are high quality and the zzZipMe Sack is so soft and stretchy! I love that the sacks are breathable and have a 2 way zipper so I can change their diaper without disturbing them. Actually let's be real...so Matt can change their diaper without disturbing them! Since we have twins the poor guy has to get up and help me every time.

The sacks come in several cute prints. I chose similar boy girl designs because c'mon...everybody likes coordinating twins!

Check out all the prints HERE and comment below to let me know which one is your favorite. By doing so you will be entered to win your own zzZipMe Sack of choice!

You can like SwaddleDesigns HERE on Facebook for discounts on their products. Or follow them on Instagram @SwaddleDesigns to see how other people use and enjoy their products.

Milestone Cards

Tuesday, September 27, 2016

Since these twins will most likely be our last babies (unless a miraculous conception happens) it is so important to me to document their growth and how much they will change within the first year. I just love the darling designs on Milestone Cards.

Milestone Cards cover all my bases with weekly photo cards and they highlight all of the twins' big moments. The twins' first food, their first time crawling, walking etc.

I can't believe how much they have changed in just six weeks! I'm so glad I have Milestone Cards to keep these memories forever. Now there is no guessing to exactly what I was documenting in each photo.

Check out Milestone World for some free printables!

Win a Gift Card Towards a Baby Jogger Stroller

*This giveaway is closed. The winner is CHELSEA!

I'm the type of person who just loves being pregnant. Maybe not so much in the third trimester with twins (oy, uncomfortable!) but overall I enjoy it. Possibly one of my favorite things is being able to wear a bikini and not having anyone expecting me to have abs of steel. However once the baby is born it's time to get rid of my muffin top stat! Baby jogger strollers have been crucial for allowing me to get back into shape post pregnancy.

One of the reasons why I value a good baby jogger stroller so much is because running is an easy way to get back into pre-baby shape. It's free,  you can do it anywhere, and baby can come with you! Plus any form of exercise can ward off post-partum depression.

When I had Blair I used the BOB baby jogger stroller practically every day. It came with me on vacations too. Now that I have twins I plan on using my double BOB to get back in shape. There are a ton of great workouts you can do while pushing a stroller...check out a good one HERE.

Next week marks 6 weeks post-pregnancy and as long as the doctor gives me the thumbs up I plan on hitting the trail. Hopefully the twins enjoy it as much as I do! And if not...too bad so sad. Mama needs to sweat for thirty minutes (at least!). Pairing some exercise with healthy recipes should get me out of my maternity pants in no time. ;) Oh, and here's a crazy fact...I lost 45 pounds in a week after having the twins! I still have about 10 pounds to go (more would be better). But I'll take it!

To enter to win a $50 gift card tell me in the comments below what your favorite baby jogger stroller is. You must comment to enter and a winner will be chosen at random in the next week! This giveaway is a partnership with Nakturnal, with a prize of a gift certificate.
