Medical

Headed out to my 3rd acupuncture appointment today. I stopped taking my progesterone because the acupuncturist told me not to so he could see what my body did on its own. No surprise to me I started spotting right after ovulation all the way up until my cycle started early on day 24. Surely this is TMI but I like to keep record of it so feel free to read on.

I'm actually going to start seeing a hormonal specialist in Palm Springs ASAP via a recommendation from a (now pregnant!) friend. She had some similar issues to me and was prescribed some bioidentical progesterone etc that she swears by and after two months was prego. She is now 4 months prego! You know who you are;) From what I gather this doctor looks at your blood tests in depth (from a lab he recommends) and tells you what your hormonal deficiencies are then prescribes bioidentical drugs to compensate for your low hormones. Apparently not all doctors measure hormones quite so extensively. For example there are five measurements taken for hypothyroidism 1 T2 T3 T4 T5 T6. My current doctor only looks at level 5 and 6 and told me I'm good to go with my thyroid. However, with hypothyroid running in my family (and me having serveral symptoms of it) I'm curious to see what this new doctor will tell me when he looks at all 6 aspects of my thyroid. I don't know if any of this makes sense. Basically I'm giving everything a shot before we decide IVF is our only hope.

Emotional

I'm feeling hopeful with the acupuncture, new diet, and my essential oils. I'm also really looking forward to meeting this hormonal specialist with my Mom. (Did I mention she's even going to pay for it?!) She truly believes it could help me and I'm excited about it. I do get overwhelmed because there are literally SO many reasons to as why I'm not getting pregnant. I often don't even know where to begin and what treatment is good or what is a waste of time but I've got a year to figure that out before we pull out the big guns.

Spiritual

I heard/read some great and encouraging things this week. Here they are in no particular order...

Psalms 34:18-19 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. The righteous person may have many troubles but the Lord delivers him from them all.

1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxieties on him because he cares for you. "You are staggering beneath a weight that your Father would not feel. What seems to you a crushing burden would be to him but as the small dust of the balance. Nothing is so sweet as to lie passive in God's hands and know no will but his. Child of suffering, be patient. God has not passed you over. He who is the feeder of the sparrows will also furnish you with what you need. Do not sit in despair, hope on. There is one who cares for you. His eye is fixed on you. His heart beats with pity for your woe, and his all knowing hand shall bring you the needed help. He will bind up your wounds and heal your broken heart. Do not doubt his grace because of your tribulation, but believe that he loves you as much in seasons of trial as in times of happiness. God has never refused to bear your burdens, he has never fainted under their weight. Say goodbye to anxiety and leave all your concerns in the hand of a gracious God." Charles Spurgeon.

I hope that encourages those of you in trials as much as it did for me.

And here's a little bit of Blair for your life...
"Mom! Come get in my tabernacle!" LOL clearly this girl has been studying the life of Moses in her Bible study.

Earlier this week she enjoyed her rainbow necklace at the library craft time.

Happy weekend!

  1. As someone who has suffered from Hyperthyroidism I think its great that you are going ot a new doctor. I wonder if there is one who practices similarly close to me?
