Last weekend I had the pleasure of attending a friend's baby shower ('tis the season!). The home at which the shower was located is gorgeous. I've featured it before and since then she has updated it a lot with the help of our friend, Josh who owns Solorio Builders. The girl has mad style and is so good at pairing cheap finds with expensive ones for a really chic look.

I didn't even photograph her bedroom (swoon!) because according to her it wasn't "ready." It looked bomb, mind you. And she is thisclose to getting her backyard (garden) finished. I'll for sure have to give you a peek into that asap!

PS for the amount of times I say "swoon" I think I need this sweatshirt. But for $108 who wants to buy it for me?! Thanks for showing me this, Kate!

Oh, and Blair says she misses you all and wants me to tell you that she's not naughty all the time. In fact last night she said (all on her own), "I luf you, Mommy." Swoon. ;)

Remember how I moved my entry way rug into the living room? Well it turns out that I really like the rug but just want it to be a bit bigger. I plan on pulling this rug back into the entry way and getting a bigger one for the living room. I also plan on adding some drapes in there that would match the existing dining room drapes (not shown but a bluish gray color).

Help! Which one is your favorite for my space?

On to toddler life. Which has been a freaking treat lately (insert sarcasm here). No joke within the last 2 days she has flipped a switch and hit the terrible twos. Our converstaions have been like this lately...

Me: "You need to tell me you are sorry."
Blair: "No sorry, Mama!"
Me: "Ok then you are going to be in trouble."
Blair: "I sorry! I sorry!"
Me: "Too late, sister."

Or I get this a lot too...

As I'm changing her diaper...

Blair: "Mama this MY job."
Me: "No, this is Mama's job. But you can help by lying still."
Blair: "MYYYYYY job!"
And the crying ensues.

I know that two year old's like to insert their independence and I'm totally down with that. As long as she can be polite and kind about it. You want to pick out your own clothes? Totally ok. However, running over my toes with your baby stroller and then refusing to apologize? Not ok. I know it's not nice but lately I've been living with a B.R.A.T (spelled, just in case she's reading). ;)

Anyone else or is it just me? And oh goody we get to start potty training mid June. This ought to go over well. I can just see all the piles of poop I'll be cleaning up since she insists on doing things her way.

This past weekend was a whirlwind...I'm starting to sound like a broken record. I guess I just need to get used to the fact that every weekend we are busy! It's a good busy with all (mostly) fun things. Friday night we attended M's cousin's wedding and left B at my parents house. Best. Decision. Ever.

Bringing a toddler to anyone's wedding is fun for about 5 minutes. They are cute twirling around on the dance floor and that's about it. I was wearing a floor length sequined gown (not ideal for toddler hip holding) and M had on a tux so we certainly weren't dressed for a night out with her. Without her we were able to eat our meal at a normal pace versus our usual "scarf it down method." We spun around on the dance floor (much to Matt's demise) and we even got to wait around for cake to be served! My favorite, of course. :)

I was SO excited to attend this wedding not only because we were excited for the bride and groom but because I was in love with my dress! Materialistic, yes. Sue me.

I ended up renting my gown because really how often do you need a floor length sequined gown? Plus, if I ever wore it to another event people would remember it. And I'm not one to double dip. ;)

I had a great experience with Rent the Runway and would totally do it again! They sent me two dress sizes and have a TON of reviews from people who have worn the same dress online. They detail their height, weight, and bust size and how the dress size fit for them. So easy! I can't wait till my next fancy event!

Just recently we got a Nordstrom Rack and Marshalls nearby. Like dangerously close. While I'm not usually that impressed with the clothing selection for Blair at NR I found some SUPER cute dresses at Marshalls. See?!

 The dresses were between $12 and $15 each...a good deal in my opinion! Especially for how darling they are.

Last night we brought dinner to a friends' house who just had a new baby boy. Blair was all about checking him out...

She also requested this picture taken of herself with all her baby gear. Such a weirdo.

And finally last evening we went for a walk with her baby stroller. The stroller is beat down but she loves that thing. Check out the snarl she gave the camera...

Such a goofball. And while she's sweet man can the girl have a melt down. Take last night for example...While I was putting her to bed she requested 2 soft bunnies to sleep with. So I put them in bed with her then she freaked out and said, "No soft bunnies!" She's been doing this indecisive thing lately and I'm so over it. So I said, "That's what you chose. Good night." And I shut the door. That girl wailed for a good 15 minutes until she pooped out. Sigh. I painted my nails while she lit up her monitor to bright red. Mom of the year? Yup. I'd say so.

I mentioned yesterday that I had the joy of meeting one of our dear friends' new baby girl, Hayley. Here she is below:

Hayley's parents live in San Clemente right by the beach so her nursery has an adorable ocean theme. She went with coral and aqua for her color scheme and purchased most items from Land of Nod and HomeGoods. I love checking out other babies nurseries so I thought you would enjoy seeing hers!
