Blair is such a chatter box lately and M caught her counting to ten the other day on video. Her sweet little voice just KILLS me! I can't get over how much she is talking and mimicking us...it's pretty hilarious. Last night for the first time she prayed before dinner all on her own...cue my heart melting!

We made it through the day yesterday without one pinch...success! I mentioned yesterday that I attended a darling shower for my friend, C. She is opting to find out the gender the day she delivers (I could never...so type A over here) so her friends threw her the most adorable gender neutral shower. They went with a mint, peach, gold, and emerald pallet... SO trendy and cute! Take a look...

     Happy St. Patrick's Day! I had a jam packed weekend full of baby shower, painting cabinets (thisclose to being done), furniture browsing, and a SPD feast.Speaking of food...did you post your SPD recipe in the link up today?! With St. Patty's Day literally right around the corner I thought I would throw out some festive flair for the littles! Items are from Gap, Old Navy, and JCrew...last night was a late night so I didn't have time to link them up...my apologies!

I mentioned earlier this week that we were going to have friends over on Sunday after church for a St. Patty's Day potluck and I'm so excited! Sure enough we will also be painting our hiney's off this weekend as well. Along with a baby shower I'm attending and some leisurely furniture shopping with my mom that will be a wrap for us!

With St. Patrick's Day around the corner I thought I would put up a little "greenspiration." I gathered up a few green and gold items at Michaels craft store and got busy on my cricut machine.

This Sunday we are having a few friends over after church for a St. Patty's day potluck. Some corned beef, cabbage, wee red potatoes, potato leak soup, bangers and mash, soda bread and more! This girl can hardly wait.

And I would be lying if I said baby-makin' was going swell. Turns out the second time around has not been so easy! It sure doesn't help that the first go around it happened right away. Last Sunday at church I was humbly reminded that my plans are not my own. That God's plans are much higher than mine and how arrogant of me to think that I can try to plan the rest of my life without considering Him and what He has in store for me. I have not been thinking about what God desires or seeking Him in this matter. I've completely taken baby-making into my own hands. Nothing good can come out of my own selfish ambitions.

I love being in control and planning things to a T and I think God is teaching me a lesson here. A lesson to be more dependent on Him and less on myself. I'm not gonna lie...it sucks. I had all my ducks in a row and although it's only been two months I'm already frustrated! When I want something I want it yesterday and I know God does not work that way. I'm not sure what His plan is but I realize I need Him and I need to keep His will in mind. For all I know He could be post-poning this pregnancy so I don't go into early labor at my bff's wedding? Or because He needs to teach me something (most likely)? Or because Blair needs more time one-on-one with her Mama? I'm not sure. All I know is that He cares for me infinitely more than anyone else and has the most beautiful perfect plan for my life. All I have to do is have faith and obey. :/

     There were a few super easy DIY projects I did for Blair's party. The first was to change this chalkboard base from red to something more neutral that goes with my home (and her party).

Before: start with $15 Ikea chalkboard

 2. choose some scrapbook paper that you like and measure and cut it to fit the tray

3. spray the tray with elmer's craft bond glue. this stuff is CRAZY sticky...don't say I didn't warn you!

4. then it looks almost finished. excpet your kiddo could still ruin it with stray marks

 5. paint a layer of modge podge over it so you can wipe it down later if need be

6. Go back and smooth out the bumps (you can see them in the above photo)

And voila! You have a beautiful chalkboard that blends with your home! Now I just need to decide what color I want to paint it. Maybe even dip the legs in gold or silver paint?!
