Fall Fun at Los Rios Ranchos

Tuesday, October 17, 2017

A couple weeks ago M and I took the kids to go apple picking in Oak Glen. This is my idea of fun (hello cute photo opps!) and M's idea of not so fun.

We got off to a rough start since it was almost 90 degrees and we both had sweaty babies attached to our body in the direct sun. I'm pretty sure there is nothing worse than being sweaty-hot while trying to help your wife get the "perfect shot" of the kids. Ha ha. Poor guy. I could tell our adventure was going down in flames fast so we hopped in the car to find a more comfortable location.

Just a few hundred feet down the road we pulled into Los Rios Ranchos and got the BEST parking spot in the whole place! Instantly our mood was lifted and we were able to spread out our blanket in the shade and enjoy some apple pie, cider, and a carmel apple. It ended up being super relaxing and the kids loved crawling/running around on the lawn.

Everly loves her...I promise ;)

We ended the day with a walk around the farm to check out the butterfly garden. Blair was all about it and it really was beautiful.

It ended up being a great family day and we really need to do things like this more often! Maayyybe with a little less heat though. ;)

The Tooth Fairy Doesn't Knock

Wednesday, October 11, 2017

I know a certain five-year-old who is dying to lose a tooth. She's a firm believer in all things magical (unicorns, mermaids, fairies you name it!) so it was no surprise to me that she was enamored by her new tooth fairy book, The Tooth Fairy Doesn't Knock by Funny Fable Productions.

This catchy book really appealed to her love of fantasy and the best part is that the kit comes with a miniature door for the Tooth Fairy to come through after you lose a tooth! Blair's, of course, is pink. And even though I don't see her losing a tooth till first grade (at least) she's got her door all set in her room...

She begged me to let her add stones below the door on the floor but with two one-year-olds crawling around I had to put the kabosh on that.

If you have a little one who loves make-believe as much as Blair does this is a must-have! Christmas is coming and I can't think of anything as exciting as Santa AND the Tooth Fairy arriving! ;)

The Museum of Ice Cream San Francisco

Tuesday, October 3, 2017

I've been trying to get tickets to the Museum of Ice Cream in LA for a while and was having no luck. I found out that the MOIC was opening in San Francisco this fall and I was not about to let the opportunity pass me by! We snagged some tickets and Blair and I flew up north to attend. We maaaaay have even ditched school for the occasion! School or ice cream? Not a tough choice. ;)

We had so much fun and I know that Blair really enjoyed her Mama time all to herself. We ate our fair share of ice cream and had fun taking pictures in all the exhibits. And if nobody already has dibs I think I'll be opening a Museum of Donuts pretty soon! ;)

I have quite a few more photos to edit and upload so stay tuned!
