Magnolia Market Review

Wednesday, March 16, 2016

The Swaddle Designs muslin blanket winner is posted HERE. Was it you?!

By far my favorite part of our Texas trip was going to Magnolia Market. Our only fail was going on a Saturday. We arrived 30 minutes before they opened and there was a decent sized line already. When the store opened they let in a certain amount of people (not sure what the limit was) and then as people left the allowed more in. It was CRAZY. I mean like Black Friday crazy...so many people! Everyone was nice and no elbows were thrown since there was plenty of things in stock but man was I sweating in there!

Since we had to fit everything into an over sized suitcase I lugged there, we couldn't take a huge advantage of the scratch and dent sale going on. Most of those items were pretty large. But I was really happy with what I got and the experience in itself was so fun! The store was beautiful, of course and I snapped a couple pictures.

We actually got to meet Jojo's sister, Mom, and niece. They were all super friendly and sweet and when I told her sister I was expecting twin boys she gave me a hug and said, "That was from Jojo!"

Jojo's niece and mom.

The grounds that the market sits on are very family friendly with a huge lawn area with games, swings, teeter totters, a beautiful garden, food trucks, and a bakery coming soon! After my Mom and I shopped our hearts out we grabbed a Coke and watched the line continue to grow. It was a couple blocks long by the time we left.

Needless to say we found some great treasures. I snapped some of my finds on snap chat and will write a post on that as soon as I get it all situated in my home. :) I even found some cute decor for the boys' nursery. I can't wait!

Speaking of the twins...I have a doctor's appointment today. I always worry that one of them might not be in there still (I know, it's stupid) but I can't help it. So, prayers for a good appointment and that things are looking the way they should.

A big thanks again to my Mama for taking me on this trip. It was so much fun and really the last time I'll be able to do anything like it for a while!

Hey, ya'll welcome to Texas!

Last Wednesday my Mom and I traveled to Texas for a mother/daughter trip. The main focus of our vacation was to go to Magnolia Market and shop at Chip and Joanna's new store in Waco. If you don't know who I am talking about then tune in to HGTV's show called "Fixer Upper." They are just my favorite. :)

Before we got to Waco we checked out San Antonio and Austin. Despite some rainy-ish weather we had a great time sight seeing, shopping, and eating deliciously naughty food.

In San Antonio we cruised the river walk but due to the weather we couldn't go on the river boats. :( Guess there's always next time!

We also figured we should check out the Alamo since it was right down the street. We made it about half way through the audio tour before we had had enough and bailed. Like mother like daughter!

The next day we drove to Austin and explored took a picture at the capitol, found some fun graffiti art, ate sandwiches on donuts (yum!) and had fun shopping the local boutiques.

This place was so bomb! Basically a bacon, avocado cheeseburger on a donut. Then we polished it off with a caramelized banana desert donut. To. Die. For.
I can't wait to share with you all about Waco and Magnolia Market! If you follow me on snap chat you've seen some of my finds. (nataliebushman)

Modern Boho Nursery Mood Board

Thursday, March 10, 2016

I've been pinning things left and right for the twins' nursery and now that we know the gender I'm in deep. I've actually been having a hard time nailing down a theme but I think I have settled on modern boho. For those of you giving the screen a blank stare check out my mood board below. ;)

Guys, these mood boards don't just happen in an hour. They take FOR EV ER. I will come back to this post next week when I'm home (btw I'm in Texas with my Mom visiting the Magnolia Farm store!) and link to all the items shown.

M and I are still arguing discussing nursery options (he loves industrial) but this is my version of the twins' dream nursery. I'm smitten over it! And it just gets me even more excited to have BOYS! Also, I stopped by Old Navy this week and O.M.G. do they have cute boy clothes?! Whoever said girls were the expensive ones? I say it's pretty even...

A Party Fit for a Princess

Tuesday, March 8, 2016

We celebrated our princess' 4th birthday on Saturday and it was a dream come true! Tiny Prints helped us with adorable invitations that I incorporated into the party theme. They also sent over matching thank you cards and favor stickers. I'm a sucker for details and they always make our parties etc. extra special.

Guests took home light up wands as a thank you for coming. Stickers c/o Tiny Prints.
I tried to tone down the tackiness that can be "Disney Princess" by DIYing my own decor. I stuck with girly colors and incorporated some rose gold. Insert heart eyes here.

Guests received crowns and took home wands that they crafted.
The craft table where magic happens. ;)

Blair's $6 cake! Albertson's for the win!

We invited Rapunzel to join us and lucky for us her calendar was wide open. ;) Blair asked me what the kids would do at Disneyland who wanted to see her. I told her that they wouldn't be able to while she was at our house. Ha ha, she's so cute. Rapunzel was a huge hit...she read them a book, sang, made wands with them, had a coronation ceremony, taught them to curtsy, and did their make-up! I was seriously impressed.

Telling her how old she is...except that she's 4, haha.

We had a bounce house for the boys our less interested guests (thank goodness it didn't rain!) which is always a hit. Add in some pizza and desserts and I think everyone lived happily ever after.

Happy 4th birthday, Blair! We hope your day was magical!

Gender Reveal by Thimblepress

Monday, March 7, 2016

Did you hear?! The verdict is in and we are having twin BOYS! We are beyond thrilled and excited to experience parenting little boys. We were SO surprised when we found out because it was the least likely option in our minds. Don't let this be mistaken for disappointment... we couldn't be happier!

Blair remains to be the only princess (besides me) ;) and will be such a helpful big sister. There are so many wonderful things about having twin boys. Blair won't have to compete with them, they will have built in playmates (each other and their twin boy cousins!), and I get to design a boy nursery! Woo hoo!

We used confetti poppers from Thimblepress to announce our big news. The sent us some extra goodies that are just adorable.

I missed my stick the first try. Now you know one of the reasons I never played volleyball.

Eeek! We are so excited! God has chosen these sweet boys to be the perfect addition to our family. We feel blessed!

Swaddle Designs Giveaway

Thursday, March 3, 2016

*This giveaway is closed. The winner is Kelly Sneed! Congrats!

We had a big surprise yesterday...my nephews were born at 32 weeks! Thankfully both they and their mama are doing well. The boys weighed in at 3 pounds 7 ounces and 3 pounds 10 ounces and 17 inches long. They are in the NICU for an estimated 3-4 weeks and I will get to see them today.

And speaking of newborns I just can't wait to wrap my sweet twins up in these Swaddle Designs muslin blankets. With my expected due date set at September 4th (and likely much earlier) it is going to be blazing hot here in southern California. Breathable muslin blankets will be perfect!

Swaddle Designs kindly sent me two adorable black and white patterned blankets which will be darling for girls or boys! I love these blankets because they get softer with every wash and are so versatile! They can be used as sunshields, playmats, nursing covers, and more. Plus, they come with fool proof 1, 2, 3 swaddle directions sewed into the blanket so grandmas, uncles, and new daddies can figure it out! ;)

Swaddles Designs would love for one of you to try out their muslin blankets too! (US and Canada only).

Work it Wednesdays

Wednesday, March 2, 2016

So there's this shirt that I'm pretty much obsessed with. You can't beat the price or the fit! In fact I love it so much I wore it about 4 times in one week and when I put it on for just one more day M had to pry it out of my little hands. He told me I could not wear that shirt one more time and insisted that I go and get more in other colors. I don't think he has EVER told me that in our nine years of marriage.

I wish I could link to this lovely gem of a tee shirt but I couldn't find it on Target's website. But I went this week and there were plenty of them so I bet they are at your local target too! Mossimo is the brand. Anyway here's a couple of ways to style it!

I'll be living in this all summer!

Love that it covers the bum!

I love bright pops of color for spring!

You would die if you saw how busted open my pants are underneath.

Brown boots would have been cuter but they require too much effort to take off so just imagine.

What I love about this shirt is that it's not a maternity top but it should last me my whole pregnancy. The bonus is that I can still wear it afterwards and it should be forgiving. Hey it's so flowy I could probably nurse under it too! ;) Go get one (or three!). This one is a size Medium.
