Rotten Eggs

Wednesday, April 3, 2013

This post definitely comes late but better late than never?! I definitely need to get on my A game next year for my Easter egg dying plan. Let's just say I've decided this years decorated eggs were a Pinterest Fail. First of all I got way too ahead of myself with all the different ideas I wanted to try. Second of all I didn't read the directions for any of the new ideas. Two wrongs don't make a right...

i was supposed to use electrical tape. apparently there was none in the garage and duct tape wouldn't stick. proabably because my eggs were sweating since i didn't allow time for them to get to room temp. this was the next best thing.
meh. marginal. thanks to my brother and his gf for helping out though!
round two...paint and glitter. takes way. too. stinking. long. not even worth it.

cute, yes. time effective? no.
this was such a mess. i was eating (and pooping) glitter for days. tmi?
and finally, polka dots. m used white glue and then dyed his egg. i painted mine.
at least bath time was a success! this is the only mohawk B will ever have if i have anything to do with it!
Tomorrow I am posting Blair's party decor for sale on my blog. If no one takes the bait then I'll be posting it on Etsy.

wall dots, table dots, banners, balloon weights, paper products will all be for sale!

Toddler Tuesday

Tuesday, April 2, 2013

Yesterday I was looking at Blair's invite to her birthday on the fridge and she has already changed so much since then! Although I'm glad the stress of taking her monthly photos is over part of me has anxiety that I'm going to regret not doing it till she's two. I may have to document her next year by month as well... but make it easier on myself (aka let her sit up instead of lying down). We'll see. She turns 13 months on Thursday!

bubbles in music class!

it's raining bubbles!

Milestones
I don't think having good hair is as much of a milestone as it is a blessing but this girl's got it. She used to get stopped for her "eyes and thighs" now its her eyes and hair that stops people in their tracks! She does have a lot of hair for her age and it's super curly in the back which is pretty cute. My gramma asked if I curled it. Uh no. I'm pretty sure using a curling iron on a baby is a no-no.

Lately the way  we have been getting B to smile for the camera is by turning our backs to her and then whirling around saying "boo!" It used to be that cheering for her did the trick but she's decided that is no longer funny. I wonder what we will have to do next to get a good shot?! Here are our hiking pictures from last Friday...

precious bean!

who is this toddler? where is my baby?!

oh, there's my baby ;)

B and Dada leading the way! PS see how pretty Riverside is? ;)

This week is spring break for our school district so I'm going to lunch almost every day with a "teacher friend." Looking forward to it! Yesterday my friend Jenn came up from SD for a meeting and then we ate lunch together. B loves her "Auntie" Jenn. :)

mama has skills in making B smile ;)
Oh and before I forget this little gem...

i always love a good before and after shot!
So much change in one year! And with that, nap time is over so I'm done with this post. ;)

Hoppy Easter

Monday, April 1, 2013

We had such a nice relaxing weekend. It seemed extra long since matt had Good Friday off from work. We went hiking, celebrated our anniversary with a dinner out, and enjoyed time with friends and family on Easter. On Easter morning Blair searched for her eggs with Matt's help. Instead of filling them with candy we put bits of the Easter story in each one with clues leading to the next egg. Next year she will be old enough for candy AND the Easter story. :)

Afterwards we went to the country club and ate the most delicious brunch ever! And when I say brunch I mean dessert... Because that's mostly what ate. B successfully ate the ears and head off her chocolate bunny. :)

It's crazy for me to think about what it took for us to get out the door last year for this event. M and I literally took three hours to get ready with our one month old baby. This year was so different. Ahhhh having a one year old is so much easier!

After dinner we went to church and B gave the volunteers there a run for their money. She was pooped from the activities of the day and pretty tired. She crashed hard when we got home but gave me the sweetest snuggles before bed. I fall more in love with that girl every day.
