A little late on the twins 8 month update but better late than never!
Matt and I are seriously so smitten with these babies it's ridiculous. We ooooh and ahhhh over every little thing they do. "Do you see her?! She's sitting up. Oh my goodness she's so cute when she sits up." "Look at him. He's so cute when he's in his jumper. He's like jumping and stuff." It's like we are first time parents all over again! We are just cherishing every little thing since we plan on these babies being our last. We're excited to move out of the baby phase but we aren't trying to rush it like we did with Blair. I never want to forget this!
Here's what Evie and Cal are up to this month...
Evie
Evie has decided to eat solids now and prefers carbs and fruit. Clearly she takes after her mama. She likes to suck her thumb, jump in her jumper, smile, and watch Blair. She can sit up now and has started crawling. She's not on a mission to get where she's going but I'm sure that's coming. She doesn't like it when strangers get in her face especially when she is strapped in her car seat or stroller. She gets on all fours and peeks out over her crib when you lay her down to sleep. Then she watches you as you leave and smiles and coos. Heart melted.
Cal
Cal still loves to eat and will pretty much eat anything. He sucks his middle and ring fingers at the same time, loves his jumper, and getting kisses on his tummy. He gives the best open mouth kisses without prompting and has the cutest bashful grin. He gets crazy kicking legs whenever I change his diaper and also peeks over his crib to watch me leave at nap time. He can sit up but is not crawling yet. He likes drinking water from a straw but does not like it when strangers saw hi to him when he's in his stroller or car seat.
Both babies have been going to the nursery at church on Sunday nights. They seem to do pretty well but usually cry at drop off. We've got a great routine going on with two naps a day (9:15-11 and 1:30-3) and bedtime at 6:30. They wake up around 7 and we can't complain about that! They are generally happy but still needy from about 5-6:30 pm. They love going out and about and checking out new surroundings. People stop us all. the. time. I only mind when one of them is crying and it's cleat that I've got to go. ;)
We're doing it! But not without the help of many people. I've never been so grateful to have Matt working from home and family who live in town. Little breaks make all the difference in the world.

I thought I would update this since having Blair (it's about time!). Having a baby can be so overwhelming so I thought that making a list of my favorite registry must-haves could help alleviate some of the stress of trying to figure out what the best products are. These are things that have helped us. Some items are worth the extra money in my opinion. Some items aren't chic (ahem, that ugly baby swing) but they really get the job done better than their expensive/attractive rival (the Mamaroo). I hope you find this helpful!
What are some items that you loved? Tell me below!

Are you recovered from your candy coma? Peeps or no peeps? Blair is a big fan and I secretly don't hate them either although the older I get the fewer I can stomach. We split our holiday over the weekend to keep things manageable. The Easter bunny arrived a day early and we had my family over for brunch. That evening we went to church and the following morning we had brunch with M's family. Annnnnd my diet starts tomorrow. ;)
Of course the holidays are so much more fun with the kiddos. I can't wait till they are all running around picking up eggs and stuffing chocolate into their mouths. For now Blair is in charge of that. ;)
No idea what this face is but it made me laugh. |

The Bible verse my mom chose for me is Psalm 37:4 "Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart." I love when I see it at random times...on coffee mugs, in a sermon, on a postcard etc. It brings me peace and reminds me to delight in Him first and that my desires will shift to be more like His.
Matt and I chose life verses for each of our kids and I thought it would be fun to share them here with you.
Blair: Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. When Blair was born we struggled with having peace while she was in the NICU. This verse brought us so much comfort in a time of uncertainty and I hope it does the same for her.
Everly: Romans 12:12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer. Everly's verse is a daily reminder of how I want to be...joyful, patient, and faithful. I pray she leans on this when she experiences a season of waiting like I did. This verse encouraged me to turn from my anger, doubt, and fear and to instead rest in him who loves me.
Calvin: Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. We chose this verse specifically because of what it took to bring him into this world. We had to be confident in the Lord and turst in him even when things seemed hopeless. We want Cal to always remember that his hope remains in Jesus. We pray that he remains faithful even when his circumstances are hard. God always has a plan for us even though we don't always understand it. He is good all the time and cares for his children so much!

We ventured out and took the babies to my parents beach house for the last few days and it went surprisingly well! Blair is on spring break so we decided to give it a whirl and we didn't regret it. It took a lot of work but it actually did feel like a vacation. We had lots of helpful hands and staring at the ocean all day long has a way of relaxing you. ;)
We're rounding out our spring break by hitting up Disneyland today. Corn dogs for all! ;)
It was a lot of firsts for the babies...including their first swim! Poor Cal jumped so much he got blisters on the bottom of his toes. :( My suit: JCrew |
Evie was lovin' life with her Lala in the hot tub! Laid back... |
Blair was the cutest mermaid at the pool! Suit by Cat and Jack. |
Babies first time seeing the ocean. Clearly I didn't think we would be taking a picture ha ha. PJs and workout clothes for the win! |
Our favorite coffee shop in San Clemente...Bear Coast! A picture of my triplets ;) |
This is becoming a regular expression of Cal's and I freaking love it. |
