28 Weeks

Hello third trimester!

I can't believe I've made it this far! Yesterday we had a 4D ultrasound and even though baby boy was hiding behind his placenta we got to see baby girl's sweet face. She was chewing, sucking, and yawning... Quite the busy girl! There is no more room in this belly of mine that's for sure. The twins are so squished together whenever I see them in there. It looks so uncomfortable! I can't imagine them hanging around in there for more than a month but we will see.

As for me I'm feeling LARGE but good. My back pain is annoying but I realize it's temporary and obviously worth it! I lay down often throughout my day to relieve the pain and M has been great about rubbing my back.

This weekend we are headed to Marina Del Rey to have a mini vacation and B is hanging with Matt's parents. It is expected to be crazy hot here next week (the low for the week is 98!) so I'm looking forward to some pool time by the beach!

Guest Bath Mini Makeover

Tuesday, June 14, 2016

I've talked about my love of all things from Magnolia Market before. I recently purchased this bad boy on sale from their online store and love it! We (Matt) hung it up in our guest bathroom upstairs and I love the way it looks. I also like that it's a functional piece that stores fresh towels for our guests.

I'm short one towel but regardless I like it!

You can find these little guys here .

My favorite scent ever and the cutest matches!

Next on the list for the upstairs bath is to paint it grey, get a new white shower curtain, and frame in the contractor grade mirror. Last weekend M painted our master bedroom and bathroom the same color grey as the nursery and Blair's room and I just love it! It was a belated birthday gift to me and makes my DIY heart soar.

Indigo Boho Inspired Baby Shower

Monday, June 13, 2016

It's Monday. Perhaps the lamest day of the week but I'm here to (hopefully) give your Monday a little lift/inspiration with photos from the boho inspired baby shower my friends threw for sweet baby Colt. A couple of my friends were the brains behind the boho theme and I just followed their directions and helped them craft! The shower was full of yarn dream catchers, tassels, indigo dip dyed fabric, geodes, feathers, and other fun items. Check it out!

The new mam with her sweet babe.
Colt Marshall
My partners in crime. These girls are always down to throw a good shower!
You may recognize some of the items such as the table runners from my own shower. When in doubt re-use (some) of the things you already created! The sweet girls who hosted this shower also hosted my shower 3 weeks ago. I'm pretty sure if someone else gets prego anytime soon they are going to cry. ;) I'm also sure if I never saw another piece of yarn for a while I'd be ok with that.

Congrats on your sweet baby boy (#2) Candyce! You make motherhood look so beautiful!

Week 26 and 27

Friday, June 10, 2016

Guys, I had such a sweet surprise at my anatomy scan this week...Baby boy's cysts are all gone! This was the first anatomy scan M was able to attend and it was so sweet to be able to celebrate with him there. I went into the appointment thinking that his cysts would still be there and oddly enough I was ok with it.
I can honestly say I have had so much peace throughout this pregnancy. I've been able to force my self to look back and see God's faithfulness which helps the worry to melt away. Here are some of my reminders of his sovereignty that I always run to:

-Our new insurance covered part of our IVF
-He gave us the EXACT amount of babies we were praying for; no more, no less
-He sustained those 2 embryos over the five day waiting period even when our doctors said their chances were slim
-I was able to get the doctor I wanted even though he isn't taking any new patients
-He knew our deep desire to have a boy and a girl and allowed that to happen (in such a fun way!)
-I have had a pretty uncomplicated pregnancy...such a blessing!
-Friends and family have been super helpful and accommodating
-Baby boy's cysts are gone!

I just love reading that list over and over. It brings me so much comfort to see how God has sustained us throughout this whole journey. We don't deserve any of it but he has still poured out his grace and mercy upon us. He's such a good Father!

If I had to have a complaint it's that my back is KILLING me from 4pm till I go to bed. The only thing that brings relief is laying down on my side and having M massage me. I would say, "Hurry up and come out babies" but then I have a whole new set of problems. ;) Anyway I'll gladly take the back pain in exchange for these two sweet babies cooking. They are beyond worth it!

When Life Gives You Lemons...

Thursday, June 9, 2016

Move over pineapples there's a new fruit in town and it may have you puckered. That's right, lemons are the main squeeze this summer. I've been seeing them pop up everywhere and I am not sad about it! While I still do love a good pineapple print, lemons take on a fresh new look in the baby and toddler clothing department and I can't keep my hands off of it! Here are some of my favorite picks!

All items from Gap except for:

Also be sure and check out the back of the lemon ruffle blouse/bloomer set at Gap. The back of the shirt is open and oh SO cute. I got it for baby girl and I just can't wait to see her in it! I also purchased the matching boy/girl lemon swim suits...too much!

Preschool Graduation

Monday, June 6, 2016

Last Friday Blair graduated from her first year of preschool. They sang a couple songs that weren't sad at all (but why were my eyes tearing up?!) and we received some darling memory books that I want to look at over and over. My favorite picture is the one where I attended her Christmas performance in a wheel chair because I was still on IVF bed rest! Who knew those little babes were growing inside at that moment!?

I can't believe what a big girl she is. From here on out our summer is dedicated to swimming in the backyard, eating popsicles, and hanging out until our worlds get rocked by the twins. :)

We love Mrs. A!

And Mrs. F!

Grampa even got to attend the festivities!

And because it was national donut day to boot we had to celebrate...

Her first year of preschool flew by and while we both enjoyed it :), I am looking forward to lazy mornings with her at home. Not having to rush out the door to school and instead staying in our jammies (or swim suits) all day sounds like fun to me!

Blair's dress is Old Navy but I found it at a consignment shop for $4. :)
