Santa Anita Races

Wednesday, June 18, 2014

Last weekend we had the pleasure of attending the Santa Anita horse races for a friend's birthday. Her hubby planned the whole thing (complete with a BBQ on the infield!) and we had a great time. I'm not a big better (I would rather spend my money on things I know I get to keep) but M likes it and had some fun. We ended up going home -4 dollars but I'm counting that as a win. ;)

Baby Shower {Green and Gold}

Tuesday, June 17, 2014

I had the pleasure of attending one of the most glam baby showers I've ever seen a couple weeks ago. My friend Kendra is due with her first baby very soon...a sweet boy. She has impeccable taste and style (as do her friends who threw the shower!). Thanks again to Daniel at Balboa Photography for the beautiful photos!

the party favors were these cute little plants!

gold, silver, and bronze place for the game winners!

homemade banana pudding. i died a little inside of excitement!

mama to be!
The shower was exquisite and it helps that the hostess has a remarkably beautiful backyard (and home!) If you missed it be sure to check it out here.

Congratulations, Kendra! Can't wait to see you become a mama...you're going to do great! So happy for you. :)

Father's Day in Review

Monday, June 16, 2014

Happy (late) Father's Day to all the great Dads out there! And there must be a lot because Instagram was blowin' up with all the "me and my great Dad" pics! We had a relaxing Father's Day at home with family. B gave M the gift up sleep by staying in her bed till 9:30 in the morning! That was also a belated Mother's Day gift to me too. ;) We had a pancake breakfast followed by a tasty lunch at my Dad's favorite restaurant, Smokey Canyon BBQ. We finished the day off with dinner at home with M's parents.

If M can't be hiking or fishing the next best thing is eating delicious food and watching the World Cup games. So that he did! I gave him the gift of yard work (here), a tie clip, and a subscription to The Dollar Shave Club, which he so graciously pointed out benefited me too since I rarely often use his razor.

Here's a few pics from our day...

M took B for a walk who in turn took "Bella" for a walk. Can you believe "Bella" even poops on the grass and Daddy has to pretend to pick it up? Yup. Someone sure is learning by watching what we do...

jammies: vintage Jcrew, crocs c/o my Aunt, shades: vintage target

a dandelion for daddy...the best Father's Day gift!

he's training her to be a civil engineer like himself!

cuddling and Sesame Street (a rare moment of no Frozen!)

One lucky reader will win a pair of FP moccs in their choice of size and color.* If you haven't heard of this company (do you live under a rock?!) it is completely amazing. California Adventurers

Thursday, June 12, 2014

Is it possible to be more tired from a trip to Disneyland with my Mom than with Blair? It was my Mom's first time in California Adventure and we straight up dominated that park. We were there for the "rope dropping" aka at the butt crack of dawn with our Starbucks in hand. We hustled our way to Radiator Springs Racers (Cars Land) and ended up riding it 3 times that day. At most waiting 30 minutes thanks to our fast passes, early arrival, and single rider line.

I also suckered my Mom into riding California Screamin' and Tower of Terror. She silently closed her eyes on both of them and mumbled whenever I asked her if she was okay. Ha ha.

We seriously had an awesome day celebrating my belated birthday (by 6 weeks). Thanks Mom!

don't mind if we do

"rope dropping"...no idea this existed till today

downtown disney and then we saw The Fault in our Stars (sobfest!)

birthday chocolate ganache

right after the crowd sang happy belated birthday to me

And that's a wrap! Seriously such a fun time with Mama Bear. Also I think Disneyland is even more fun when you don't have to pay for it yourself. ;) Disneyland Pass next! Lala, you in?

PS You are NOT going to want to miss the AMAZING giveaway I'm hosting beginning Friday! I'll give you a hint. It starts with Freshly and ends with Picked. !!!!!!!
