Home updates

Lately I've been adding a few updates here and there around the house. Thanks to my Aunt's keen sense of interior design I've picked up some great things! And I got some GREAT deals!

coffee table $160 from consignment store
I got a seriously great deal on this coffee table. It was 30% off of the wholesale price! It retails for around a $1000 and I got it for $160! What a steal, right?! The lame iPhone picture doesn't do it justice!

lamp $80 from consignment store
This lamp adds a little punch to our family room.

curtains $50 from Target
I replaced some old shiny blue curtains that were here when we moved in with these. I love the print and it adds some fun to our kitchen.
pictures $30 each from Homegoods
I nabbed these from Homegoods. Gotta love that store! I like that they remind me of San Luis Obispo (where M and I attended college).

tree $80 at consignment store
I added some greenery to our living room. Still searching for a tray to put on the coffee table. The room still doesn't quite feel complete but I'm not sure what I'm missing.

pictures
Finally filled these frames that are in our bedroom. I love waking up to that smiling face! Eventually I want one photo of each one of our kids. Yes, I'm planning on three!

loveseat for $325 by Flexsteel from consignment store
So, ultimately this will be in our master bedroom but since there is nothing in the loft area right now we plunked it down there. And I really mean plunked. I helped M haul that thing UPSTAIRS and it was not a pretty sight. I was sweating like mad by the time we got to the top.  We would like to get a pull out couch for this space eventually. Please ignore my hideous collage. I know, I know, It really needs to be fixed, I just haven't gotten around to it. I have a ten month old remember?!

Motherhood Mondays

We had a great weekend at the beach with my family celebrating my brother's birthday. The weather was amazing! I mean 75 degrees in January?! Only in Southern California! Lots of new things happening with Blair...

Health

Well I think it is safe to say we have officially entered the teething stage. And I can't say I'm enjoying it. While we were at the beach B wasn't 100% herself. She would fuss/cry for no reason and chew like mad on anything she could get her hands on...including her hands. I've tried to see where the perpetrator in coming through and it seems to be her top left. Which is weird because usually the bottom teeth are the first to come in. Either way teeth are teeth and no fun when they come in!

Diet

Homegirl has been a bit more picky than usual lately. She has been preferring her veggies mixed with rice and her fruit mixed with oatmeal. She tried some meat from my lasagna but man alive did that make for some stanky poops! Yuck. It makes me want to encourage her to be a vegetarian but that's not gonna happen. Her mama and dada love their in-n-out too much!

Sleep

I'm not sure if teething or being away from her bedroom is what made her sleep a little wonky this weekend. She woke one night at ten pm and yesterday morning at 5:15 am. That made me pretty sad. But she did go down for her first nap at 7:45 so I went back to bed for an hour. :)

Likes

I decided to add this section to the list because B is enjoying some pretty funny things. She likes looking at the oven display, playing with my eyelashes, and shaking anything that rattles. She has also started scrunching her nose up like a bunny and sniffing ferociously. She thinks it's hilarious. Lastly she's been fake coughing to get attention as well. This kills me!

Crying

Ugh. A lot. I hate teeth.

Social

B has been loving her music class almost as much as her mama. What?! It's fun! She also got to spend a lot of time with her auntie and uncles, Grammas and Grampas, and her babysitter (which happens to be my brothers girlfriend).

Milestones

B has gotten really good at sitting up from lying down and vice versa. She is also workin it when standing. She's taken a few tumbles but I try to act like it's no big deal. Trying not to raise a cry baby! She's also been clapping and dancing which is SO cute!!!

Post partum

Just enjoyed the weekend with my family. Not a whole lot that makes me happier than that. :)

If you haven't noticed we're getting a little excited about Valentine's Day over here. My little love bug wanted to show you her new romper...

don't worry tho

I've been wanting to show you my new consignment store finds from last weekend but I've had a hard time getting my act together to actually take pictures. Guess I'll just have to tack it on to next week.

This weekend we are headed to the beach with my family to celebrate my youngest brother's 19th birthday. I'm looking forward to all the extra help quality family time. :) Since our internet is pretty flighty at the beach I'll be seeing you on Tuesday here. Plus MLK Day is technically a holiday so I'll be taking the day off. Have a great weekend!

Valentine's Day Mantel

Thursday, January 17, 2013

Last night I was anxiously thinking about what I was going to post about tomorrow (not every day has post worthy events believe it or not...) and then I realized I hadn't updated my mantel for Valentine's Day. The perfect solution right before my eyes! So I had my assistant hubby get down the Valentine's Day box from the rafters in the garage and got down to business.

Proof that I have the most awesome hubby in the world. :) He goes to work all day and then he works for me when he gets home. Kidding. Kinda... So do you have a Val Day mantel to share? I know Christmas tends to dominate this one but I think all holidays deserve a little love (pun intended).

Make sure you check out the clothes I have for sale and get in on the good deals HERE!

Valentine's Day for Baby

Wednesday, January 16, 2013

It's coming! Valentine's Day is officially less than a month away. So I'm giving you plenty of time to scope out outfits for baby. :) I have my eye on a few of the options below. This is Blair's last "first" holiday so we better go out with a bang! Time to start searching Pinterest...

And don't think that I forgot about all those handsome young men out there!

Daily Dose

PS got to meet our Blair's future boyfriend friend's new baby boy last night. He was so sweet and beautiful! Brings back so many memories...

One of my favorite bloggers inspired this post. Natasha over at Schue Love did her own closet clean out and I thought it was such a great idea I decided to do one of my own! I am like her in that I HATE to get rid of clothes (those mini skirts I wore with Ugg boots are gonna come back, right?!). I just feel like my closet has enough space to store all my in and out of style clothes so why get rid of them? Um maybe because there are some things in there that haven't been worn in years...

And then there are some clothes (mostly designer jeans) that I'm like "well what if I get skinny all of the sudden?!" Like that ever happens to anyone...

I've got some great stuff (I think) but it just doesn't fit anymore (and I don't going "clubbing" all that much anymore) and I'm tired of living in a fantasy world. Someone may as well wear it and rock it if it can't be me!
