Thank you, thank you for all your well wishes, prayers, advice etc. It really makes my day to know so many people are rooting for us.
We had a really good appointment yesterday and I LOVED our doctor. She didn't tell me to "just keep trying" (so annoying) and actually pinpointed the cause of our infertility. For now it looks like I have low hormone levels, more specifically progesterone. The sheer fact that I even have Blair was an encouragement as this ups my percentage of getting pregnant again. She's not sure why my body is suddenly wonky but it could possibly be related to why
Blair came 5 weeks early. A possible infection in utero could have led to her early arrival which also could have damaged my plumbing along the way. Who knows. Doesn't really matter how it happened but that we recognize now what's going on.
So. Where does that lead? Well, she's an aggressive doctor and I like that about her. She figures the sooner we get pregnant, the quicker everyone is happy and on their way. I'm totally down with that. Because of my low progesterone and lack of
corpus luteum (she discovered this in an ultrasound) she recommended Clomid, a fertility drug.
So this is it. The first step in our infertility treatment and hopefully the last, God willing. She said I was a great candidate for it and has high hopes for us. That is encouraging but doesn't mean I'm not still on my knees every day. I'm in awe of how God has answered even the smallest of my prayers in asking for an understanding doctor and kind nurses. Both were by far the friendliest ones I've ever come across. His mercies are new every day and His blessings rain down on me more than I deserve. To Him be the glory!
Now, less uterus talk and more vacation talk! Time to catch up on our fabulous trip to Oahu! M's parents have been married 35 years and we got to benefit that by an all expenses paid trip to paradise! I love it when that happens. ;)

And there you have it! Our vacation in a million pictures. It was awesome but I'm sad to say my tan is already fading. Womp. Womp. How glorious it was to have Blair outnumbered 6 to 1. Grampa even napped at the condo everyday so we could beach it sans toddler. Heaven! Can't wait to see where we get to go at 40 years of marriage! Just kidding, Bob and Linda. Kind of... ;)
Wow you had an answer so fast!! That's so awesome that you have a plan to go forward with!
ReplyDeleteSo happy you found out the issue, I'm sure you're beyond comforted and hopefully this will be the answers to your prayers :) Your family vacation looks amazing! I'm dying over Blair's flamingo bathing suit, too cute!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun trip! May I ask where you found that camo skirt Blair was wearing? I would love to get my hands on one of those! Thanks in advance!
ReplyDeletejust got it at Cotton On! It's a size two and fits perfectly although most of their stuff runs big. It's actually shorts but looks like a skirt. :)
DeleteI hope clomid does the trick! Will they also have you take progesterone supplements as well? I had to do progesterone suppositories. Messy and unfun, but you're willing to do whatever it takes of course!
ReplyDeleteno supplements for progesterone yet. she said the clomid should help with my hormone levels on its own. but what do i know...i was SO confused during the whole appt.! my hubby understands my cycle more than i do at this point! if i get pregnant i will likely need progesterone supplements during that time. good times. praying it happens quickly since, like you, our insurance doesn't cover it. :/
DeleteWe just returned from Hawaii too!! I'm already dying to go back - it's so pretty and those sunsets!! Oh my. I have to say I'm glad I wasn't standing next to you in your suit hot mama! ;) and I love your little hula girl. So precious!
ReplyDeleteyou're too kind. plus you've got to remember no one posts a picture of themselves looking flabby in their bikini! the beauty of getting to check out photos right when they are taken! :)
DeleteBest wishes and sending prayers your way! We actually just got back from our first trip to the RE and will start clomid in 2 weeks if we don't get pregnant this cycle. So I'm right behind you!
ReplyDeletegood luck to you too!
DeleteYour family is so adorable! I wish you the best of luck with the clomid! Infertility can be so hard. We tried for two years and ended up with our daughter through IVF. Amazing things they can do these days! Quick question: we are doing the cabinet transformations like you did and we are getting bubbles when applying the top coat. Did you have a problem with this?

ReplyDeletewe didn't encounter this top coat problem. :( M says just make sure you don't shake the top coat and don't work it back and forth too much while painting because it can get frothy. hope this helps!
DeleteI have two Clomid babies! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteLove your swimsuit cover-up! Where did you get it?? :)
