It's here! Annnnnnnd I'm officially old. :) What started as "let's have a few close friends over and make dinner" turned into "let's get dinner catered and bust out some bomb decorations!" And why shouldn't we? After all it is my GOLDEN birthday today and I've only waited my whole life for this! ;) Thirty on the thirtieth!
If you follow me on Instagram @natyouraveragegirl you are bound to get a sneak peak of the decor today. Otherwise I'll catch you tomorrow for a re-cap! RIP twenties...you will be missed! But wait didn't I hear 30 is the new 20? I'm going with it... :)
Weekend Re-Cap
Tuesday, April 29, 2014
Blair and I had such a great weekend up in San Jose with my college roomies/bffs. It's always so refreshing to see them and this trip was extra special because B joined in on the girl time. They hadn't seen her in person since her first birthday so they had a lot of catching up to do! It was so fun seeing them interact with her and read her books, show her some new dance moves, and spoil her rotten! My heart was full. :)
We ate a lot of delicious food, shopped, went to the park, went on a hike, and just hung out. It was the perfect weekend! Plus Blair learned the true art of the selfie...
Quite possibly the best part of the weekend was all 4 of us snuggled up in the morning in a full sized bed. :) We took a selfie but since we were all fresh faced and donning bed head I'll keep that picture to myself. :) It's such a sweet thing when your best friends love your little so much. They were eager to spend time with her and thought everything she did was adorable. I'm so looking forward to the day when I can return the favor!
PS Today is my last day in my twenties! Insert look of disbelief here.

Living Room Updates
Friday, April 25, 2014
I've been going round and round trying to decide on some chairs for our never used living room. The problem is that we never use the room (unless it's Christmas morning) but it's the first thing you see right when you walk in our house.
We had some chairs that had a fun pattern but the more I stared at them the more I felt like the print was just too modern looking along with their shape. See below...
I wanted some chairs that didn't break the bank but looked nice. I honestly didn't care if they were comfortable or not because we never sit in that room. I found these chairs below for $250 each. It was the best deal I could find for the "look" that I was aiming for. I couldn't commit to a color or pattern since I fear I'll regret it soon. So I opted for a neutral chair with a classic shape. That way I can just change the throw pillows for a whole new look!
The room is still lacking to me. I would love to put a rug down but then it would compete with the rug in our entry way you see above. Also I would have to battle M about the whole "rug on carpets is unnecessary." I could do curtains but again I don't want them to compete with the ones in the dining room across the way or the office. Sigh. I need some more accents of color. Maybe a more colorful lamp shade? Also some crown molding! Ideas? Suggestions? Or maybe I should just submit this room to Natasha and see what she comes up with? ;)
Have a happy weekend...it's my last weekend in my twenties (insert crying face here) but I'll be livin' it up while visiting my besties. Well, as much as a girl can live it up with her two year old in tow... ;)

Cupcakes and Sprinkles
Thursday, April 24, 2014
Last night before dinner Blair said prayer. It pretty much went like this, "Dear God, fank you for Mama, Dada, Blair, cupcakes, and sprinkles. AMEN!" Pretty sure she nailed it. Those are the things I'm most thankful for too. ;)
Annnnnd if you have sprinkles at home you definitely need to get them out. B stacked and re-stacked ours for no joke 30 minutes...she only stopped because it was bed time! Totally getting these out tomorrow so I can finish packing for our trip to San Jose to visit the besties this weekend.
Hope I gave some of you toddler mamas a little inspiration to get your sprinkles out! What odd things do your kiddos like to play with? Tell me please!
Stay tuned for tomorrow...we finally got some chairs for our living room and I can't wait to show you!

How to Wear {black and white patterned blouse}
Wednesday, April 23, 2014
Yes, I'm that mom. Before you read today's post go here and vote for Blair. :)
I recently bought this simple black and white patterned tank (for 1/2 off!) and am in love with it. The fit is so forgiving and it goes with everything! Check out all the ways I'm excited to wear it this spring/summer...
There you have it! Black and white printed tops are easy to find and don't go out of style. I like this one and this one. Oh and if you happened to miss this little gem from yesterday's instagram feed...
Blair has really been into chapstick lately. She got some in her Easter basket that didn't have any color to it but found the ones stashed in my purse that do. She loves them. I'm sure once I discover it on the walls or other places I will instantly regret this. But for now she's getting her daily serving of fruit from eating all the chapstick. Just kidding. She actually knows not to eat it. ;) For the record this is my favorite kind.

Knock Knock

It's embarrassing really, how long it has taken us to get new hardware on our front door. We had a straight bedroom lock basically when we moved in two years ago and just got around to changing it out so both doors match. Not only were the old locks hideous, they weren't really functional either. You couldn't lock it and then shut the door behind you. You had to have a key and do it from the outside. Now we have the luxury of having a locking door! Thanks for tackling this, honey!
We really love the new look and so does she...

Easter Re-cap
Monday, April 21, 2014
Hi friends! What a fun weekend we had celebrating Easter! M had Good Friday off of work so that was an extra treat. We spent a lot of time with family and Blair enjoyed a couple Easter egg hunts as well. That girl could search for eggs all day long. And apparently the Easter bunny is her new bff because she cried when we told her he went "night night." She even kissed him on the nose! Move over Santa, there's a new bunny in town!
There was no shortage of food and I certainly stuffed myself silly. Whether I like it or not the gym is going to be my bff this week. :/
In other news my ultra sound came back totally normal and my doctor's appointment went well. Thank you for all your well wishes and prayers! We've officially discovered that there is nothing hindering me from getting pregnant except for my old age...how nice! :/ We are on strict orders to keep trying till December and then we will be off to the fertility clinic. Hoping it doesn't come to that and just trying to take my doctor's advice to relax...easier said than done!
We actually really had a doozie of a week last week. I couldn't wait for the week to be over and I actually ended up at the doctor's TWICE! Turns out I got an ear infection from a cold I've been suffering from. How cute...me and Blair had twin ear infections. No, not cute. At least I escaped the double pink eye she also had. OY. Here's to a new week and me looking forward to visiting my besties in San Jose this weekend! Flying alone with my toddler on Friday...yikes!
