Help! Which one is your favorite for my space?
On to toddler life. Which has been a freaking treat lately (insert sarcasm here). No joke within the last 2 days she has flipped a switch and hit the terrible twos. Our converstaions have been like this lately...
Me: "You need to tell me you are sorry."
Blair: "No sorry, Mama!"
Me: "Ok then you are going to be in trouble."
Blair: "I sorry! I sorry!"
Me: "Too late, sister."
Or I get this a lot too...
As I'm changing her diaper...
Blair: "Mama this MY job."
Me: "No, this is Mama's job. But you can help by lying still."
Blair: "MYYYYYY job!"
And the crying ensues.
I know that two year old's like to insert their independence and I'm totally down with that. As long as she can be polite and kind about it. You want to pick out your own clothes? Totally ok. However, running over my toes with your baby stroller and then refusing to apologize? Not ok. I know it's not nice but lately I've been living with a B.R.A.T (spelled, just in case she's reading). ;)
Anyone else or is it just me? And oh goody we get to start potty training mid June. This ought to go over well. I can just see all the piles of poop I'll be cleaning up since she insists on doing things her way.
I just get hitting or crying since he isn't using many words yet lol. Teaching manners and having them use their words when they are frustrated is probably some of the hardest things!
ReplyDeleteI like the last to rugs and we have similar random meltdowns too. And I'm on the fence about PT. We were going to start this week, but she doesn't seem like shes completely ready and I'm afraid pushing it will backfire, so just tryto to build interest instead for now. CAnt wait to see how it goes for B!
ReplyDeleteyeah actually after writing this M and i were talking about it. he was like, "are you seriously considering potty training the week before we leave for hawaii? because a five hour plane ride and long ride to the airports are probably going to be tough." truth. looks like we're postponing too. and i'm not too sad about it!

I like the last rug's colors a lot! And we're in the same boat with the I Can Do it All Myself attitude. Emphasis on the 'tude.
ReplyDeleteWe have the last rug in our living room and I love it. It sheds a little bit in high traffic areas but shouldn't be a problem for your living room.
ReplyDeleteMy dear, you are not alone! My son is 22 months and has started a terrible phase where he throws a fit any time things don't go exactly his way, which is often. Hang in there! That's what I keep telling myself. It is just a phase. Boy, is it tough, though!

ReplyDeleteI say go for the stripe! It will bring a great touch of trend and stripes never go out of style. You could easily use it in another room when you want change.
