Blair's 3rd Birthday {Peppa Pig}

Wednesday, March 11, 2015

The birthday pictures have arrived! My friend Mario Minwary did a great job capturing the day. My heart was swooning while looking through these and I hope yours does too. :)

I've mentioned this a time or two but Blair is all about Peppa Pig so I centered her 3rd birhtday party around that theme. I chose a color pallet to match the invites: magenta, blush, mint, white, and citrus. She actually asked me why there was no purple or orange (her faves) in the decor. Next year, Blair. Maybe.

Invitations were courtesy of Tiny Prints

I made the Peppa garland out of playing cards and created the "hooray" on my cricut.

Blooms purchased by the talented Lynnea Ruiz and arranged by me
Paper straws from etsy and attached by M :)
Some shaded seating for Blair's older guests. ;)
Just stop it! These two...
Don't get me started on my balloon drama. They either came with holes or lost their helium some other magic way. So frustrating. AND they were supposed yo be clear...not opaque. Sigh.
Tissue paper purchased on etsy which made for an easy/cheap backdrop.
Chocolate pudding with crushed Oreo on top made for some tasty muddy puddles!

My Peppa cookies turned out surprisingly well! Who wants to hire me... ;)

Found these gems at Ralps for $9. Holla!

Guests took home treat bags filled with taffy.
Peppa coloring sheets were actually a hit!
Someone was spoiled...
Busted our bounce house out again...a toddler's dream!
The birthday girl in all her sweetness. (shirt: old navy, skirt: carter's)
My loves. (crop top: target, skirt: old forever21, shoes: old dolce vita, necklace: old target)
Papa and Lala
Gramma and Grampa

Making a wish (for more cake I'm sure).

Oh to be three!
The End.
It was such a special day celebrating our awesome 3 year old. And since we are still not prego with number 2 (yet) I am able to lavish this precious girl with all my love, attention, time, and DIY birthday parties. ;) And I really think she not only likes that but needs that. God's got a plan for her and our family. He knows exactly how much time this sweet girl needs her Mama all to herself before she has to share. And I'm totally good with that. Happy birthday, Blair Olivia! You are seriously my favorite girl.

Spring Style {Mama and Mini}

Tuesday, March 10, 2015

Did you all survive the time change with your littles? Now that Blair is a big three year old I didn't even notice the time change...pretty nice! I picked out some spring styles for her and me that are bound to be a big hit with the warmer weather. Where I live that means it's 80 instead of 70. ;) Since we have Disneyland passes and the weather gets cooler there I'm looking forward to getting a lot of use out of her pants and sweatshirts (from Carter's!) that she got for her birthday. And yippee we are headed there tomorrow. :)

All clothing from Target, Gap, Old Navy, or Carter's
I am LOVING CAbi's new Spring line and can't wait to get my paws on the items below. I love the fresh colors for spring!

Clothing by CAbi, jewelry by Stella & Dot, shoes from Target and Nordstrom
Let me know if you are having trouble finding an item above and I can be more descript to as where I found it in the comments. Otherwise I'm off to bed because this mama is pooped!

A mini weekend re-cap

Monday, March 9, 2015

We had the best time celebrating our little nugget on Saturday. And despite her telling me all week that she didn't want a birthday party it turns out that she had a great time. ;) And that she does care about birthday presents. Which by the way she got totally spoiled with so many great gifts...we're so thankful!

I had a friend snap some photos of the decor and I'm really excited to show it to you guys. :) For now this mama is completely pooped and just trying to catch up from the weekend so please excuse my brief post...more to come very soon!

The jumper is always a big hit and the kids had a blast in it! We're so blessed by all the friends and family who came to celebrate Blair and we hope you had fun too!

Oh and for you curious cats I haven't posted a fertility post because I don't have much to say! I'm still taking my meds but have only been on them for about two weeks. It hasn't been a full cycle yet so I'm just waiting. Honestly I'm not expecting to get prego in the next couple cycles because I know it will take time for my body to adjust to the hormones so in the meantime I'm happily waiting. I'm good with it! It still just feels so good to know what's going on. I'm a thankful girl!

I know I've been a little MIA this week but I've been up to my eyeballs in Peppa Pig. Only for my darling little 3 year old to tell me that "she doesn't want a birthday party." Well guess what kid? You can stay home while I party with your friends, because we are having this freaking party! Ugh. Tell me that she will appreciate all of this one day...

Aside from Blair's current attitude on birthdays she actually had a swell one. It was low key because um hello she already went to Disneyland and is having a party tomorrow. Oh hi, only child. We grabbed lunch at a local sandwich shop with Daddy and Lala. She opened her gifts (a hodgepodge of toys I'd been collecting) and ate the purple and orange cupcake she requested. Because Lord knows I wasn't about to allow those things at her already color coordinated party which is NOT orange and purple. Le sigh. I know, I'm crazy.

I told her she could open her present at lunch if she gave me a nice smile. Nailed it!
Seriously someone get this kid a selfie stick!
So so fug. But she loved them.

Just like any other three year old she just ate the frosting off the top.

And here's a little sneak peak at some party decor!

notice the lack of purple and orange. ;)
Thanks for all the sweet birthday wishes for Blair. We feel the love! I'm pretty pumped about her party this weekend and the fact that it's going to be 81 degrees. Gotta love southern California.

Happy Birthday Blair!

Wednesday, March 4, 2015

Sweet Blair you are 3 today and I just can't believe where time has gone! You bring us endless joy and life is SO much better with you. We love teaching you new things and seeing you constantly learning about the world around you. You love so many things... blankie, baby, Disney princesses, Peppa Pig, olives, swimming, swinging, chasing Bella, Bible study, church, your friends, and your family to name a few. I know that one day you will be an excellent big sister because you are already so caring towards your baby doll. I look forward to seeing you in that role but for now I am happy to call you my baby and to let you have me all to yourself! I love you more than anything and am blessed beyond measure to call you mine. Happy Birthday big girl!

I look forward to celebrating your birthday this weekend Peppa Pig style. Bring on the muddy puddles!

Oh, and because Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (especially on their birthday!) I added another print to the shop. :) I can't wait to get this printed out in Blair's room.

Disneyland Adventures

Monday, March 2, 2015

Hi friends! Disneyland definitely didn't disappoint (woah alliteration)! We were expecting rain and never really had any which made the day even better. We decided to do what the birthday girl wanted so we saw about a million princesses (some more than once), rode Dumbo, the carousel (twice), the train(s), and watched a couple of Frozen shows.

By the end of the day we were pooped, which is actually how the day started. Blair had been complaining that her tummy hurt so upon arriving she decided to use the travel potty I have in the back of the car. I bet you can guess what happened next. She left a big, huge ,steaming turd in there and we realized this was a problem because we weren't about to leave that thing in the car all day. So my Mom suggested using a plastic bag to scoop it up and throw it away like we do for the dog. A win for us but not so much for the guy in charge of waste disposal...

We got an early start which was money because there were hardly any lines. The only thing we didn't get to do was eat at Ariel's Grotto. This is a restaurant where the princesses meet you at your table and you get to take photos with them. Next time!

B was so cute. She ran right up to her and took a picture all by herself!

For some reason Donald scared her so we joined in the picture. :)
She went straight for the purple and orange horse...her favorite colors!

Telling Anna and Elsa what she had done so far that day.

I highly recommend the Fantasy Faire Frozen show over the Frozen Fun show in C.A. This was up close and personal and WAY better! (Thanks for the rec Monica!)
The first thing she asked Belle was, "Why don't Mickey and Minnie talk?" She said they had to save their voices for their performances. Hahah. Or the fact that Mickey is usually a girl might also be the case... ;)

Their "silly faces." I die.
Every party needs a pooper. :) Sleepers are fair game.

I absolutely can not wait to do this on the reg. We got the cheapo passes and I plan on doing this once a week for sure! I actually woke up this morning wanting to go again. It's just so much fun to see her light up and chat with the characters. She has the silliest questions for them and we snicker every time. So blessed by our little family. :)
